We are continuing to talk about who the Holy Spirit is.

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.” John 14: 16-17 AMP

The Holy Spirit is our STRENGTHENER!

“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality].” Eph. 3:16

In the weakness of our human frailties the Holy Spirit is our strength. When we cannot, He can. The Holy Spirit strengthens us by His additional assistance. He is our reinforcer. He encourages us by a response to our weakness. He will help us pray when we don’t know how to pray about something or He will give us a scripture that will bring understanding and strength.

Have you ever got up in the morning and your body seemed weak and lacking any strength? I have. But, as I begin to pray in tongues and build myself up spiritually, my mortal body is strengthened. I begin to move in that strength and I am reinforced with freshness, joy and vigor. Romans 8:11 tells us the Holy Spirit will give life to our mortal bodies. I’m so thankful for the Holy Spirit!

Another thing the Holy Spirit is to us, is our STANDBY; the one who is always there with us and in us. Always present is He, to help us through any situation.

Standby means readiness for duty or immediate deployment. Ready to be deployed especially if needed in an emergency. In other words, the Holy Spirit is always ready to move for us in any way we need Him.

I remember when my late husband Buddy was battling cancer. There was a place on his neck that begin to pour a stream of blood. We couldn’t get it stopped. I said, “Holy Spirit, I need your assistance now!  I thank you that you stop this bleeding now.” Immediately the bleeding stopped! What did I do? I called on the Holy Spirit in a time of emergency and He deployed immediately to do what was needed. Praise God! All I had to do was call on Him.

The Holy Spirit is always present, always available, always in standby; ready to deploy whatever we need.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit!!
