“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.” Philippians 1:3 NLT

I Corinthians 13: 4-8 talks about who God is. He is love!  And we are to be as He is. Our spirit, the real us, is as God is. So, we are to allow our spirit to walk in the Spirit of the Holy Ghost to be like God.

In verses 4 & 5 of I Corinthians 13, the Word says, “Love is not boastful, haughty, conceited, arrogant, inflated with pride, rude or unmannerly, does not act unbecomingly…” These are fleshy temptations. By an act of our own will, we can decide not to give into these temptations. We can decide rather to walk in love – as God is yielding to the Holy Spirit and being as God is – LOVE!

So, the battle is between our human spirit and our flesh. Galatians 5:16 says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” So, what must we do? Decide to allow our spirit to dominate our sole in these temptations. When we are faced with the temptations we need to be still a moment and begin to speak the Word; not what our flesh is wanting to say. Begin to say, “I am born of Love, I will allow the love of God (who He is) within me to dominate.”

For two years God had me studying about love. He started with I Corinthians 13: 4-8.  I read and declared it every day.  By the end of those two years, I knew God is Love, therefore I am love.

GOD IS LOVE!  I am Love!

Let us put into action who we are!

LOVE
